TRAVIS COLBY BAND

8:00-1:00

We are very fortunate to have been introduced to a couple of members of this group of very talented musicians by some of our favorite people Thanks all! Travis is coming in to give us a very special Thursday night of great music.

The Travis Colby Band is a high energy, versatile group that walks the line between funk, blues, R&B and soul. The members are all multi-instrumental, which brings a big sound out of a three piece ensemble. The TCB always aims the beat at your feet and the sound at your soul, showcasing a powerful set that features both covers and original songs. Travis is as proficient on the keyboards and he is on guitar and his vocals are wonderful too. He is also bring Doug Woolverton on trumpet (both of these guys hail from Roomful of Blues)- both have played with some of the best out there

Travis Colby has been playing piano and guitar professionally for many years, touring and recording with Grammy award winning Luther ‘Guitar Junior’ Johnson for a six year tenure and currently playing with Rhode Island’s own international recording artists Roomful of Blues. Colby brings the energy and inspiration of these artists to his band, playing and singing a mixture of Blues, Jazz, Funk, R&B… and original tunes fit to satisfy any crowd or venue. He was named ‘Best Keyboard Player’ three times in the long running “Blues Audience” magazine, and played on Luther Johnson’s Grammy nominated “Gotta Find a Way” in 2002, as well as three Roomful albums, “Standing Room Only”, “Raisin a Ruckus”, and “Hook, Line, and Sinker”.

Jeremy Kindsvatter, an Indiana native, has played bass for many years. He toured the country with the Jon Justice Band based out of Cincinnati for three years. He also plays saxophone, guitar, and piano. He studied at the University of Cincinnati – College Conservatory of Music. He has shared the stage with many notable artists including Tinsley Ellis, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Watermelon Slim.

Keeping the beat strong and the rhythm tight is Bart Lingley on drums. Bart’s musical resume is a definitive “who’s who” of artists. He toured with the Dixie Chicks for many years, has performed with many notables including Sheryl Crow and The Indigo Girls, and has appeared live on Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Conan O’Brian, not to mention others. His polished grooves and musical maturity help round out the sound of the TCB.

Together these three formidable musicians make up the Travis Colby Band, playing a tasteful arrangement of covers and originals that gets feet moving, heads bopping, and people asking for more.

He has lots of live you tubes- check them out!

EVAN GOODROW BAND

9:30-1:00

OK Most of you know how we feel about this band–True raw talent, GREAT musicians, giant amounts of energy, and a real passion for every note they play. Evan Goodrow Band is one you definitely DON’T want to miss at the Cafe this summer.. They hail from Cambridge, Mass  and travel a lot so we don’t get to have them into the Ganny as often as we would like.

Ok- This is one of those times I am going to say JUST COME!

Evan Goodrow Band has come to the Cafe a couple of times in the past BUT he was  showcased on WMVY radio for an ENTIRE MONTH and he  played at their  gala at the Tennis Hall of Fame to a packed house! (Just remember who found him first :)….These guys are totally talented  and get the room going like crazy!

Sometimes you just know a band is going to be great! As soon as I clicked on the first song on their website I couldn’t stop!(One of my Favorite tunes is ’ Girls Dance with Girls’ –  funny!) This is going to be a great night at the Ganny with a funky, soulful, fun, talented  band. One of our regulars couldn’t believe we were having them here..ran out to their car and grabbed one of their CD’s and popped it into our stereo- where it has been ever since!

The EGB (Evan Goodrow Band) is a high energy Soul Music Project, pumping Originals and the best of Old School Funk. As an independent artist, Evan has released nine records under his ownrecord label as well as playing with(or backing up) B.B. King, JimmyBuffett, Buddy Guy, Peter Frampton, Eddie Money, G.E. Smith, Entrain,
Gordon Beadle, David Maxwell, and Bruce Katz and Sam Kininger (ofSoulive).
