Sunday June 6th will be the launch of ‘Swizzle Sunday’s’,our Summer Blues Series. The summer shows will be from 4:00-7:00- so when  you are coming off you boat, the beach, the golf course or just want to mellow into Sunday evening and not think about cooking yourself.. come on down to  the Ganny for some great food, fun concoctions and FANTASIC LIVE BLUES! BBQ specials,kabobs,etc every week!!  A fabulous way to end the weekend!

   Also Thursday June 3rd we will be bringing a NEW ‘SUMMER MUSIC’ Series every Thursday from 8:00-11:00. It will be a variety of music, including light rock, americana, jazzy, country,acoustic, swinging fun. A great way to ease into the weekend with a great meal, lots of fun drinks and plenty of really fantastic musicians who we are finally getting the opportunity to have perform at the Ganny.

The Ganny serves both lunch AND dinner every day of the week.

We were very happy to introduce ‘WELLSTRUNG’ as the first band to begin our new ‘Summer Series’ music every Thursday this summer.They are back this week to kick off Labor Day weekend- if you missed them I  know you will love their fun, upbeat tunes. Each week we tried to bring you something a bit different music- wise for the Ganny!  These guys play songs you have heard with a new spin ‘like you’ve never heard before’. With  Bob Loudon- lead vocals and guitar;Dave “huthinasia” Huth: Bass;Scott “mr saxamafone” Brown: Tenor Saxophone, Alto Saxophone, Backing Vocals; Nayt “angel fingers” Patenaude: Mandolin, Lead Acoustic Guitar, Dobro, Backing Vocals and Paul “paco” Silvia on Percussion this is sure to be a great kickoff for the big Labor Day weekend with fantastic music, fabulous drink concoctions and great homemade food every day! With influences from Bob Marley, Little Feat, Beatles,Peter Gabriel,Traffic, The Band Dave Matthews- just to name a few-with their own special twist  So Please come join us for Thursday Night Fun !

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3rd

DETROIT BREAKDOWN

“The Detroit Breakdown Band is a high energy dance band that “rocks the house” playing music coined as “Boogie Blues”……meaning a style of music which is up-beat, high energy,….. designed to keep the audience up and on the dance floor. We were fortunate to have them one Sunday in the early spring and they totally blew us away!  They recently played at the Newport Blues Cafe and now they are back to rock us all away this holiday weekend! Great stuff! See you Friday! 

 The Band is a long awaited project for front-man Paul Petit of Swansea Massachusetts, with the J. Geils Band being a personal favorite for Petit, who is the singer/ harmonica / sax player, and has been doing so for the past 30+ years. In company with the other band members, Paul brings all the “Old School” J.Geils songs such as, Whammer Jammer, Hard Drivin’ Man, Musta Got Lost, Southside Shuffle, Give It To Me and many others. In addition to J.Geils, songs by artists like, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Allman Brothers and Albert Collins are included each night. 

 This exciting project was formed in September of 2008 with the initial focus of blending the infectious groove of early J. Geils with each band member’s influences to take it to the next level. Our set has grown to include a vast array of styles and artists that we interpret our own special way, leading to a common thread connecting each in a natural way.” 

    These guys really get the room going…See you for a fun filled, perfect summer ‘dance the night away’ kind of weekend! SEE YOU FRIDAY!

Frances Terry - a great and strong female vocalist, along with Steve Enos on lead guitar & vocals, John Miranda on keyboard and vocals,Steve Contente on bass guitar & vocals and Jesse Ferreira on drums and percussion will be back at the Ganny this Saturday- remember them on Penguin Plunge Day? 

   YIKES!!!! GREAT FUN,GREAT BAND, GREAT PEOPLE-    KickBack rocks the house with music from the 70’s.80’s and new stuff too- all with a serious fun time in mind! The ULTIMATE in party band! OK can I say more??  BE THERE OR BE SQUARE— we will and with bells on our toes and plenty of fun times! See you Saturday! It’s that time of year- everyone is outside enjoying the sunshine,getting exercise and having as much fun as possible sooooooo  come on down to the  Ganny this Sunday to hear the fabulous voice of Sunshine , dance a little salsa and have a blast being entertained by this amazing and talented group! 

 –Southern Rhode Island’s favorite world music band, Chiva Bus provides an evening of musical adventure, making it hard for the audience to stay in their seats. Featuring the music of classic and contemporary Cuban, Brazilian and Cape Verdean artists blended with classic American blues, rock and Motown, Chiva Bus has been acclaimed as one of the most fun and eclectic bands around. Named for the party shuttles in Columbia, Chiva Bus will take the audience on a musical journey. Climb aboard and join in the fun.BEEP,BEEP!!! We can’t think of a better way to round out a great summer season than dancing and singing with this great group!

As mentioned, we are trying to bring you a little something out of the ordinary every Thursday night this summer- We saw this band perform recently in Essex, Ct and knew you all would LOVE them!

This is a foot stomping,swinging,ridiculous good time of a night- so PLEASE join us this Thursday Night for everything from dancing to sing-a longs! Check out their website at www.shinylapeltrio.com!

The Shiny Lapel Trio is a tiny little band with a great big sound! Keeping it simple with just three (now 4!) rockin’ instruments, and a big ol’ slice of velvety smooth vocals, these guys tear up a dance floor like a carpenter late for lunch. Whether they’re rippin’ thru a classic Louis Prima standard, or makin’ ya cry with a Nat King Cole ballad, the instruments grind along full throttle while the vocals float across the top as thick as a layer of gritty bar room smoke. Oh, they schwing baby and it ain’t for the faint at heart!

If you need another boring top 40 cover band, there are plenty to be found, but if you want a band that’ll make your feet hurt from dancing and your voice hoarse from singing along, then you need to see what the Shiny Lapels are all about: Pure, sweaty, sinful swingin’ fun!

WINNER of Best Blues/R&B Motif Magazine Music Awards 2008, STEVE SMITH & the NAKEDS have celebrated thirty-five esteemed years of performing throughout New England and beyond.  During that time, the rhythm & blues powerhouse has thrived with their distinct infectious blend of rhythm, brass, and fun..with 5 horns,4 vocalists,2 guitarists, keyboards and percussion.A GIANT 10 piece band that really gets the place jumping!

We are fortunate enough to have the band for not ONE but TWO nights to ‘kick off’ the summer madness!

When you least expect it you might have Steve next to you on the dance floor- OR maybe even up on  the bar! Boogie on down for a great Saturday Night!

Robin Soares & Jon Hathaway are by far 2 of the most talented musicians to come throught the doors of the Narragansett cafe. I know many of you have been in to party the night away when 5 Flavor Discount is performing  BUT a ‘real treat’ is when this ‘dynamic duo’ sits side by side and strum their acoustic guitars while harmonizing together (in real life and on the stage! )R&B, soul, Blues and rock- a little Janis Joplin, Etta James,Beatles, Stones- will many original twists and turns!  The last time they played (night before Good Friday) was really the main reason Thursday Summer Series got launched!  They packed the house,and sent us all on a great muscial ride!  See you Thursday!

Eddy’s Shoe  is an original rock band with roots stemming from a combination of blues, jazz & various classic rock music. Performing music by The Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews, Sublime, Clapton amongst others- this is always a great night of fun and  dancing.. I know Phil and his talented musicians will be out there with bells on their toes.. come on out for a great night!

NEW YORK MINUTE BAND

Since 1995 New York Minute Band  has played local venues like The Narragansett Cafe in Jamestown, RI; regionally, Dick’s Last Resort in Boston and The House of Blues on Sunset Strip in L.A. If you love Jimmy Buffett, The Stones, Little feat and many more this is the band for you!  Band members are veteran performers of over 20 years. Billy Mitchell, (vocals, guitar, and harp) and Pat Smith (vocals, rhythm) sang with the a capella group, The Hudsons: David Furlong, (vocals, lead guitar) and Andy Webb (vocal, bass) were formerly with Three Legged Horse: John Lombardi (sax) and John Brough (drums) have been playing for years as well.

This band is a blast, waaaay fun and truly up on the stage exuding ‘let’s just have a great time tonight aura’ .New York Minute’s trademark is versatility. From classic rock to R & B, blues, oldies, and popular music, shows are full of energy, strong harmonies, superior musicianship and fun.   These guys always get the room going…See you Saturday for a night of dancing and fun!

This Sunday is an extra special day..FATHER’S DAY! What better way to spend with all of the extra cool Dad’s out there than listening to great music, sipping on a couple of rum concoctions and having great BBQ? Tim Taylor  plays a seriously mean harmonica and sings the blues , Marlee Wanseth  is passionate about her blues guitar and Mookie Kane on the drums and a great stand up bass player and key-boardist make this one of our best blues shows..With influences from .Howlin’ Wolf, Slim Harpo, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Lester Butler, Freddie King, Michael Bloomfield, Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells, Jimmy Reed ,Papa Lightfoot, Walter Horton, James Cotton, Sam Myers, Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Rogers and more – you will be truly entertained. Taylor is  a leading interpreter of traditional blues harmonica and front man for some of New England’s best blues musicians- anyone fortunate enough to hear them before knows this is the real deal — and always a pleasure too !
