We love these guys!  great rock and roll- great voices and instrumentals and great crowd interaction!

Lead singer and keyboardist Betty rocks with powerful vocals and energy, not to mention her talent. Her versatility allows for singing both typical chick rock as well as “guy rock” songs. She was with classic rock band RX Rock for nearly 2 decades. Gary on lead guitar is the founder of the band and can play a mean axe in any style of rock song ranging from Tom Petty to Rage. This multi-talented musician can also sing, play keys, drums AND bass! He was with XLR8 and for the past 15 years has played in a duo act with Dean. Dean plays a real solid bass and does double duty on great lead vocals – and he can also play drums, too. He is responsible for the professional equipment the band uses, and brings a lot of personality to the stage. He was with the band Sahara.

With influences from Ann Wilson, Pat Benetar, Robert Page, Steve Perry, Layne Staley, Tom Petty, Ronnie James Dio, Zach Delarocha, Bonn Scott, and many more, they always get the place completely fired up- We are thrilled they are back to put on a truly entertaining and dance floor rocking good show!

This terrific band was named WINNER of the BEST COVER BAND in R.I. from The Phoenix! We were there to root them on and are very proud to have them back to the Gansett~!

The Smokin’ Toads is no stranger to the Cafe- for a very good reason- they ROCK!

This Saturday, we are proud to present one of RI’s best bands and a Ganny favorite for the past 7 years, The SmokinToads. The SmokinToads is a talented and professional 4 piece rockin, party band consisting of: Joe Flori on bass guitar and vocals, Jim Pellitier on guitar and vocals, Russ (The Secret Weapon) Brissette on drums and vocals and Phil Pinault on guitar and guitar synthesizer.  The Toads have an awesome sound and absolutely the best vocals and harmonies around these parts. Their versatile song list of classic and new rock is full of surprises and will keep you dancing from the first song to the last. (Definitely not your tired and overplayed song list.)  Expect songs by: Journey, Bon Jovi, Queen, The Foo Fighters, The Guess Who, The Outfield and The Eagles to name a few.Joe, Jim and Russ cover an incredible range of vocals and harmonies and Phil’s guitar and guitar synthesizer work enables The SmokinToads to cover songs that other 4 piece bands would not attempt and they always nail it, just like the original recording

Recently inducted into the Rhode Island Hall of fame AND nominated for 5 music awards from Severn Records including Best Instrumentalist -Sugar Ray Norcia– Harmonica;Best Instrumentalist-Michael ‘Mudcat’ Ward- Bass; Best Album of the Year,Best Band of the Year and,Best Traditional Blues Album, we are soooo excited to have them to the Cafe!

Sugar Ray Norcia was also the frontman and vocalist for Roomful of Blues from 1991-2000.As a vocalist, Sugar Ray has a unique and instantly identifiable style, more croon than growl, smooth as silk yet infinitely expressive. His harmonica work is the equal of any.

This will be blues at  it’s finest and one of those shows NOT to be missed ! See you all Sunday!

HEAVY RESCUE BAND

The Heavy Rescue Band is a Rhode Island based band that formed in the mid 1990’s. In the beginning, members starting jamming at the Fire House in Providence  during there down time. As time went by more and more members joined the sessions. The early influences were Blues and R&B. The repertoire soon expanded to include classic and contemporary rock and dance music. The Heavy Rescue Band is a six piece high energy professional band with a large following. The Band has performed at many of the local Rhode Island establishments as well as private functions. They are passionate about their music and pride themselves in providing quality entertainment.

Detroit Breakdown Blues

I don’t know about you guys- but for me these guys have been missing for WAY too long!  This is going to be a very special afternoon- especially since it’s also Paul’s birthday!

For those who don’t know, Detroit Breakdown is a special blend of Boogie-blues; an up beat, danceable style that will keep you up and outa’ your seat! Paul Petit – Lead Singer, Blues Harp, Sax and Flute.Great lead guitar, silly good drummer,HAMMOND ORGAN, and terrific bass-

Paul Petit, Detroit Breakdown’s front-man lead vocalist,and harmonica ,WAS also featured on the Mill city Rockers first two albums as lead singer. Both albums toped record sales on Big Noise Records.HITTING NO.1 for Regional sales.. Richard Jiacovelli, Paul’s Bandmate for the last 10 years”, plays the hammond B-3 organ and piano. He is also a vocalist in the band, making him a “key player” in the project (pun intended)………. Rich “Reggie” Roussel plays bass and adds vocals. Reggie is a founding member of Mainbreak, Injustice and the Negative Attitudes……….. The other half of the rhythm section is Billy “Bam Bam” Donahue. Billy is a former member of Young Neal and the Vipers, Touch and Through the Doors. Billy brings a hard driving blues shuffle feel to the group………. Scott Cioe rounds out the lineup with guitar and vocals. Scott, also a member of Mainbreak, Man Made God and Exit 19, was also the band leader for Paul and Al and the Nads, the infamous group from WHJY

The Detroit Breakdown Band is a realy great group of musicians. A singer and harmonica player for 30+ years, the J. Geils Band has been a personal favorite. Along with the other band members, Paul brings all of the old school songs from the classic era, like: First I look at the Purse, Lookin’ for a Love, Homework, House Party, Musta’ Got Lost, Pack Fair and Square, Southside Shuffle, Whammer Jammer, Hard Drivin’ Man. In addition, Songs by artists like Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and The Allman Brothers will be included.
